In July 2010, Frankston Peninsula received notification from Cricket Victoria that the funding submission for a new Electronic Scoreboard had been approved. This provided the club with access to a $40,000 Capital Grant from Cricket Victoria, and a further $35,000 loan from Cricket Victoria to use towards the project. With support from Wayne Barr and his team at Super Signs, the A.H. Butler Oval is now home to an elite Electronic Scoreboard of the highest standard in Victorian Premier Cricket.
The display options are very flexible, allowing for functions such as: standard cricket scoreboard, detailed cricket scoreboard, bowling display, run rate target display, full screen sponsor advertising, full screen player profile images, full screen graphic animations, scheduled scrolling text and much more. Some of these options are displayed in the images of the scoreboard below, in operation during the 2010/2011 season.
After toiling hard on the manual scoreboard since its construction in 1994, long time operators such as Glenn Davey, Wayne Ross and Brandon Black have since enjoyed the luxury of updating scores with a push of a button! The scoreboard has since become somewhat of a flagship model for Super Signs, with many prospective clients coming to view the potential of our scoreboard before also committing to their own purchase.
