Vale Bill Wills

It is with regret and sadness that I advise of the sudden passing of Club icon Bill Wills late last week. Bill served our club for over 40 years as a player, 3rds & 4ths captain, development coach, Committee member, Treasurer and President. Bill also served as a Club Delegate to the Victorian Sub-District & Federal District Cricket Associations.

Bill, along with his brother Lance, was instrumental in the Club’s U/14 Hatch Shield successes, (today’s u/14 pathway equivalent).

Bill’s passion for our Cricket club was always on display as a player, he played the game hard, his passion didn’t diminish as a volunteer always giving selflessly to ensure our Club was presented in the best way possible.

Bill Wills influenced me personally and was always in my mind, the benchmark for what a committed, passionate Club person should be.

I extend our Club’s condolences to his wife Nance and Family for their loss.

The Frankston / Frankston Peninsula Cricket Club is richer for Bill Wills’ involvement.

Thank you so much Bill;

Dennis Prendergast
